Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant – Supply (Autism Support)

Location: Belper, Derbyshire
Contract Type: Supply (Full-Time & Part-Time Available)
Working Hours: 08:30am – 15:30pm
Pay: £89.00 – £97.00 per day (inclusive of holiday pay)

About the Role
We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistantsto work on a supply basis within a specialist autism provision in Belper. Opportunities are available for both full-time and part-time work, making this an excellent role for individuals looking for flexible employment in a rewarding educational environment.

This role involves supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and associated needs, helping them to access learning and develop socially within a supportive and structured setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with autism in both classroom and small-group settings

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons

  • Encourage positive behaviour and support individual learning needs

  • Help students develop communication, social, and independence skills

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and therapists

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN needs, particularly autism, is desirable

  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

  • A commitment to supporting inclusive education
