Our SEND school in Belper provides tailored support to pupils with varying levels of Autism, and we’re looking for patient, dedicated individuals to join the team.

SupplyGo Education is currently recruiting enthusiastic and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to work within this specialist school environment, helping pupils to learn, feel safe, and develop confidence at their own pace.

About the Role

We’re seeking SEND Teaching Assistants to work within a specialist school in Belper that supports pupils aged 4–25 with Autism and a range of associated needs.
Positions are available on a full-time, part-time, or day-to-day basis, depending on what works best for you.

This role is ideal for anyone with experience supporting children or young people with SEND, but we also welcome applicants from care backgrounds, support roles, youth work, sports coaching, or similar fields. Your transferable skills — patience, empathy, and the ability to stay calm — are what matter most.

No formal qualifications are required.

Working Hours

  • Full-Time: 08:30am – 3:30pm

  • Morning Only: 08:30am – 12:30pm

  • Afternoon Only: 12:30pm – 3:30pm

Age Ranges

  • SEND School: 4–25 years
    (Needs and abilities vary, with individualised learning plans in place for each pupil.)

Qualifications

  • No essential qualifications

  • Any SEND-related training is useful but not mandatory

  • A genuine interest in supporting pupils with Autism and ASD is key

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with Autism and ASD in the classroom and during structured activities

  • Helping create and maintain a calm, positive, and supportive learning environment

  • Encouraging pupils to engage with learning through patience and understanding

  • Assisting teachers in delivering tailored lessons and sensory-based activities

  • Promoting positive behaviour, independence, and social interaction

  • Using communication strategies suited to each pupil’s needs (with support and guidance provided)
