Overview
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Teacher to join our team, with knowledge of British Sign Language (BSL) or a strong interest in working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH). NQTs and ECTs are welcome to apply. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching while ensuring inclusive practice and effective support for students with hearing impairments.
This role involves creating an accessible learning environment, working collaboratively with specialist staff, and promoting positive outcomes for all learners.
Duties
Adapt teaching strategies and resources to ensure accessibility for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
Use visual aids, assistive technology, and communication strategies to support learning.
Monitor, assess, and track student progress, providing timely feedback.
Use British Sign Language where possible
Develop positive relationships with students, parents/carers, and professionals.
Participate in meetings regarding student progress and support plans.
Requirements
Uphold safeguarding and child protection policies at all times.
Participate in CPD, including training related to Deaf education and inclusive practice.
Contribute to the wider life of the school community.
QTS in needed
BSL is not a necessity, just a good attitude!
