About the role
This is a rare opportunity to open and register a brand-new 4-bed EBD home (mixed genders) in Doncaster. As this home operates as a standalone site, further out from other Doncaster homes, we're looking for a manager with strong, hands-on leadership experience who can set the tone and standards from the very start. Experience of opening and registering a new children's home is highly desirable.
What we're looking for
• A strong Deputy Manager ready for the next step, or an experienced Registered Manager, with at least 2–3 years' experience in a senior management role within children's residential care.
• A track record of Good or Outstanding Ofsted reports - if applying as a Deputy Manager, please include reports from homes you contributed to under your Registered Manager.
• Level 3 in Childcare (or equivalent) as a minimum, and hold or have started your Level 5 in Leadership and Management.
• Experience working within, or running, a children's residential home at a senior management level.
• Willingness to be open and transparent about any safeguarding concerns, disciplinaries or failed fit person assessments.
• Salary expectations in line with the advertised package and your level of experience.
• Able to commute reliably to the home.
What to include with your application
To help us move quickly, please include the following with your application or CV:
• Full employment history, including employer names.
• Reasons for leaving previous roles, and an explanation of any short stints in employment.
• Your most recent Ofsted reports and ratings, and any Regulation 44 reports you're able to share.
• Confirmation of your Level 3 (minimum) and Level 5 qualifications, or progress towards Level 5.
• Declaration of any safeguarding concerns, failed fit person interviews or disciplinaries.
• Confirmation of whether you hold a DBS and are registered on the Update Service.
Safeguarding
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expect all staff to share this commitment. Appointment is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check, references and pre-employment vetting.
