Here at SupplyGo, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Night Waking Residential Support Worker for Children and Young Adults with Autism and other Learning Difficulties. The role is a full-time permanent role once a 12 week probation period has been completed. A full on-site training program is provided so nobody is thrown in at the deep end.

About the Role

This is a full-time permanent role. You will be based at one site, and you will be working with children and/or young adults that have special needs in a specialist residential environment. The children in your care will be between 05 – 19 Years of Age. You will be an integral part of the support network for children in the dorm you will be working in. The residential school has fantastic facilities including a farm on site, forest school and lots of specialist vocational activities. They are surrounded by beautiful grounds and the building itself for the residential is a fantastic period building. As well as being a great place to work, there will be lots of opportunities for progression for those that want it.

Training

You would receive a comprehensive 3-week training programme in which you will be given the tools to succeed. The first week will be all about gaining in-house qualifications like health and safety and safeguarding knowledge. For weeks two and three, you will be shadowing more senior experienced staff that are going to show you how to implement your training and introduce you to the children in your dorm. The idea is to bring you up to speed slowly whilst giving you the best training possible to ensure you do a good job.

Qualifications

Having relevant qualifications would certainly be a bonus but is not essential. We need hard workers who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young adults that have special needs. The main qualities we look for is people that are compassionate, kind and have a lot of patience for the children they'd be working with.

You will be able to gain a whole host of qualifications whilst you do the job through the children's residential home and through us. We have teamed up with a fantastic training provider that has a huge portfolio of qualifications on offer for you to choose from for free!
